Fairy clans

A very few of myriad clans in Fairyland are described here.
Male fairies are far fewer than female fairies. Male fairies do not have wings, and basically cannot use whatsoever, even before War of the Minions. Male fairies, who lack supernatural powers, tend to think more realistic than their female peers.

(1) White patched butterflies (WPB)
This clan is largest in its number. They have advanced sense of society compared to others. They gather in villages situated in flatland, and make living by making and selling tools. In combat, they enchant their "real" weapon by magic. At the time of Hypnotic City Defense Wars, their wings are purely useless appendix. Female fairies are around 150 to 165 cm tall, males being 160 to 175 cm tall.
WPBs have more male members than other clans. They also work with handcrafts. Since WPB fairies rely on physical instrument, strength gap between female and male WPB is not as wide as in case of other clans.

(2) Silver Swallowtails
Members of this divine ruling clans are limited to following characters. They all have supernatual looks, are not truly physical beings, and they are ageless. They have their unique sense of time, and hardly is aware of their billions of years of existence so far.

(3) Grasshoppers
These fairies originally dwell mountain woodland. Their oblong green wings can let them fly extremely fast (sonic at fastest) for considerable distance, almost no more than a light streak to normal eyes, but they cannot hover more than 1 m above the ground. Traditional members still make living as pickpockets and highwaymen, but more sensible members prefer (often corrupted) trading, and quite a lot of them set out to ancient ruins to explore and gather fabulous riches. Some of them actually become burglar, but if found, the authority would punish them severely of course. Note they have higher intelligence compared to others. Their hair are straight, and their physique is slim. They usually wear clothes similar to those worn by Robin Hood or Peter Pan, but some of them are clothed more modern to mingle into other peaceful (less secure) society.
Like females, grasshopper males perform illegal activities. Male grasshoppers are more muscular and shorter than females.

Grasshopper worship Iroyume, but their concept of her is totally wrong.

(4) Bumblebees
This barbaric clan is most fanciful to look at. Living in "tropical forest", they wear scant garments, usually bright-colored bikinis, occasionally with strange masks and face/body paintings on. Most of them has hairs like that of Sonic the hedgehog, while a few have afro-style hairs. Their skin is often tan, but their skins turn more fair when they leave their homeland. They are well-built than other fairies but not muscle-bound like Hercules beetle clan. They have one pair of tiger-like striped oval wings and float around air for a while, using tactical manoeuvres effectively. They always carry some kind of weapon (sword, spear...) but in fact they are merely hilts or sticks in fact. Bumblebee clan members have strong offensive magic potential so they can actually employ them as weapon all the time. Many Bumblebees are alcoholic, being the reason they are prejudiced.

Male bumblebees are shamans who are clothed like native Americans and worship Akagane (by outright wrong concept). Though fierce-looking, they are prohibited to do any fight. Most male bumblebees wear long hairs, with a lot of ornaments.

(5) Mantis
Mantis clan is vicious. They are identifiable by their green inhuman legs, which resemble those of crickets. They cannot fly, but can hop aggressively (normally around 20 m, Kamako can hop 100 m high). They can turn their arms into a pair of large scythes as weapons. They have natural ability to sense enemies and preys (this is why Kamako fights without handicap of her lost right eye). They are also known to overestimate their powers and have tendency to attack even stronger foes. They have single pair of degenerated pitifully visible green oval wings behind their waist.
Mantis males do not have scythes or hopping legs. Mantis males look like Japanese townsmen in 18th century. Most of them wear samurai-style topknots as hairstyle. Mantis males are quiet, preferring studies than physical activities. Mantis clan never uses any weapon other than physical scythes, so males, who do not have scythes, seldom fight.

(6) Cockroaches
Most dirty and lowest of all clans. Members are identifiable by their purple skin. They have black large wings (almost as large as vampire's cloak), which afford them no flying ability at all, but serves as a good temporary shelter to sleep on cold pavement. Quite a number of them wear fanciful "bunny girl" costume;), but they have crooked mind. They do not have anything called society, since they are always seen loitering (or slumped) in street, eating garbage. Sensing location of hidden food and shelter is all magic they have. They have silver or white curly hair, and they have pointed ears. They seldom reach age of 50. But you must not forget their strong will, and hatred toward pseudo-virtues.
Cockroach males, like females, have large eyes, blue skin and pointed ears. They are nothing other than beggars. The gap between cockroach males and females is very few.

(7) Black widows
Black widows exude gossamer strands from fingertips (in case of male) or mouths (female), then tailor such gossamers into clothing. Also, fresh gossamers are sticky, and usable for combatting purpose like restraining enemies or hanging down from high location. Black widows have red skins and eyes, and their eyes have no pupils. Males have buddhist flower symbol in their chests. Both male and female Black widows are without wings.

(8) Ants
Ants dwell underground, and are only about 70 cm high, but they sometimes employ physical strength which excels other clans more than thousandfold. Ants are dressed like traditional Koreans. Ants do not have wings.

(9) Ladybirds
Ladybirds are plump farmers. They have extra round and large eyes. They have one pair of large red wings with black spots.

(10) Hercules beetles
This clan is most hideous of all; those who seen them avoid from talking about them, and those who never saw them think them as mere rumors. They are HUGE and MUSCULAR, but their mind is quite girlish. They wear scant clothes. Their face is very manly and some of them actually grow facial fairs (aaarrgghhh!!!). They have hard-crusted large pair of black wings, and they can even hover for a few moment. They are born narcissi and firmly believe they are most cute in the world. Due to special anabolic food they eat every day, their lifespan is no more than 30. Their strength and toughness of course surpass those of any other tribes, but they hate any fighting, because they do not want to mess any of their fresh sleek skins. The game not a once features Hercules beetles, but in fact some of them are visiting Hypnotic City to find "heartbeating wonder of youth" without being asked.
Hercules beetle males look completely different from females. They are 130 cm to 160 cm tall, and are usually plump. Their fair skins are shiny with their oily sweat. Most of them are short-sighted and wear glasses. Male Hercule beetles are always smiling feebly. Most male Hercules beetles wear only a pair of bikini pants as their clothing.

(11) Wood louses
Members of this relatively unknown clan is easily identifiable, since they look like armadillo, covered with thick hides even up to their eyes. To describe visually, they look like black (except lower part of face which is cream-colored) naked human statue when seen from front, while thick armor hide cover their back and side in oval form, and from fingers to elbows are visible since they stick out of the hide. They live underground, like moles. They have no wings at all. They rarely speak (they communicate each others through telepathy), and their short clawed hand cannot hold any weapon. They are peaceful, but once they get angry they are really fearsome; they roll up and charge into enemy with deadly force. Wood louses are about 210 cm high, and weigh more than 150 kg.
Wood louses are posted nationwide, Female serving as nurses and males as doctors. During the game, they are supposed to be stationed for benefit of Hypnotic City Defense Force. Wood louses usually dwell underground lairs.
Male Wood louses look absolutely different from females; they are about 90 cm high, stock built, and have white skins. Males prefer wearing facial hairs. Male Wood louses do not absolutely rely on telepathy but can vocally talk as well, thus males converse with other clans with ease.
