Installation
Procedure (June 29, 2000)
1.
Check Environment 2. Install DirectX
3. Download Necessary Archives 4.
Prepare Files 5. InstallShield Wizard
6. StartupFirst thing to do
is to check your PC environment.
CPU clock is most important.
| OS | Window 95/98/NT4.0/NT5.0 |
| CPU | MMX200MHZ or worse CPU slows down RuMSX drastically compared to real MSX. 300MHZ causes no problem. 400MHZ or Pentium III is necessary to fully employ debugging mode. |
| RAM | 32MB or more. RAM size does not affect performance much. |
| Display | Any environment 640x480 or more. VESA2.0 recommended. |
| Sound board | Anything may work at least, but real MIDI device is recommended. |
| Mouse | USB mice and pointing devices located on laptop PCs are supported. |
| Joystick | 2 buttons or
more. USB joysticks are supported. Joysticks which emulate keys on PC keyboard are not usable. |
Some of the turboR
emulator features like;
- Fullscreen display by ALT+ENTER
- Sound
require DirectX
series utility which is frequently updated by Microsoft.
If you are using Windows98 or NT5.0 or better, which already have DirectX installed,
proceed to Download Necessary Archives.
If you are using other OS which still does not have DirectX installed, install
DirectX. Be noted DirectX occupies fair harddisk space.
If you can read Japanese, obtain detailed info from Direct
X Fort Tokyo.
Those who cannot read Japanese are recommended to directly visit Official Microsoft Support Site.
